When a successful, retired businessman (Geoffrey Rush) starts seeing things which he can’t explain, his life takes a dramatic turn. And when his
granddaughter starts rebelling against her father over environmental issues, he is forced to reassess his life and to start behaving differently in order to keep her respect. He decides to tell his granddaughter the story of when he lived alone on a deserted beach with his father as a boy and he saved an orphaned pelican, Mr Percival. The unusual bond between him and the pelican forever changed his life. This movie, about the power of friendship filmed in the Coorong National Park, brings you up close with the beauty and wildness of Australia as well as with the lives of its original Aboriginal inhabitants
