Three young Aboriginal girls set out across the Australian Outback when they flee the state facility they were sent to after being forcibly separated from their families. The girls head back home along a fence built by the white settlers to keep out rabbits. But a persistent Aboriginal tracker is on their heels and remains their greatest threat… The film is based on real-life events from the early 1930s. The Aussie & Kiwi Film Fest will present this picture in the year which marks the tenth anniversary of the Australian Government’s National Apology to the Stolen Generations. This name refers to the almost 100,000 Aboriginal children who were forcibly removed from their parents by governments in the 20th century under policies aimed at assimilation
