A biopic about the life of an iconic figure of New Zealand and Maori society, Dame Whina Cooper. Dame Whina was a beloved but also reviled Maori leader who fought tirelessly throughout her life for her country and for Maori rights. A woman who was shaped by traditions as well as progress, who lived through several significant moments during her near 100 life. She is portrayed in the film by three well-known actresses of Maori descent.
