A documentary that takes the viewer into the world of the Australian Aboriginals from the Great Sandy Desert, who for years fought for to return to their original territory. The film tells the story of Tom ‘Putuparriho’ Lawford who grew up under the influence of Western civilization, he slowly begins to begins to find his roots and ultimately returns to his ancestral land. Putuparri is torn between two worlds, as he discovers ancient myths and traditions that still live in the ritual “Rainmaker”. The more knowledge he gains of traditional culture, the more responsibility he feels to pass on these spiritual values and knowledge of his people to future generations. It is an emotional and visually captivating film about the sacred relationships Aboriginals have to the land, their hopes and struggle to maintain Aboriginal culture.
