Director: Warwick Thornton Cast: Deborah Mailman, Pedrea Jackson, Thomas M. Wright
Set in Australia, in 1932. Two indigenous siblings, Max and Kid, are forced to work in a wolfram mine. When Max is kidnapped by ruthless outlaws, Kid sets off to track him down. Fleeing across the unforgiving desert, they struggle to evade their pursuers while searching for a path to freedom. Warwick Thornton’s hard-hitting western is a story of family, survival and freedom, as well as the dark legacy of colonialism. The film is a loose follow-up to the director’s acclaimed 2017 film Sweet Country.
